What was the opportunity?
Fletcher Construction spans many subsidiaries across New Zealand, including Higgins, Brian Perry Civil, Fletcher Living and Fletcher Building. Each hires contractors who must first be pre-qualified. Every company used the same form but ran different, inefficient processes, so contractors had to complete it again for each job. Putti was brought in to streamline and digitise the process with one dynamic online form that subcontractors complete once, then update as needed.
The platform had to integrate with Fletcher's existing systems and flex to fit any size of contractor, from large multinationals to a single person with a digger. On the same platform, Fletcher staff approve or decline subcontractors, and that decision is stored centrally so staff across the country can see who is pre-qualified.
How did Putti build it?
Putti first worked with the Fletcher team to review the old form, cutting it down to its essential sections and questions. Next came wireframing and an interactive prototype, refined through discussions with internal stakeholders and pilot users from large and small companies to make sure it fitted every size of business.
Given the sensitive information in the form, one of the final steps was integration testing with Fletcher's internal systems, confirming the product connected correctly and met Fletcher Construction's strict security practices.
The result
Putti delivered an online dynamic form that contractors of any size can complete once, while the admin side lets Fletcher staff assess each application and approve or decline pre-qualification. Single sign-on for internal staff and unified sign-in for external contractors keeps access simple for both. The form was designed with change in mind, so as building practices evolve across New Zealand, Fletcher can update questions and sections easily.
