Understanding ESG

Many organizations have had to rethink their sustainability practices in light of the current climate of rapid social and environmental change. This increased awareness of these issues is leading companies in all industries, whether publicly traded or not-to-do so effectively and will put them at a competitive disadvantage as other firms take steps toward transparency with stakeholders on how they plan for future sustainability.

We surveyed our internal and external stakeholders on social media to understand their ESG preferences better.

According to the survey, the most important ESG initiative for many people is inclusion and diversity. Many people placed a high value on the environment, while others valued privacy and accessibility. Overall, 45% of our respondents believe that our organisation does an excellent job of implementing ESG initiatives.

Inclusive Language

Putti is committed to using inclusive language that reflects our diversity and does not exclude or alienate anyone. We are dedicated to providing a welcoming, positive experience for all of our staff and customers.

By incorporating inclusive language in our community, we make sure that no one’s identity or preferences are excluded from the conversation. We work hard at making sure the language we use reflects this commitment so that everyone feels included in what it means “to be human”.

We are Team Red

New Zealand Blood’s Team Red initiative is making it possible for people to give blood in a meaningful way. With this program, you can join your friends and colleagues as part of the movement against adversity by giving life-saving donations that will go towards patients who need them most.

The New Zealand Blood Service is always looking for new ways to give back and they have a nifty website where you can find out how.

Understanding Accessibility

In order to make the world more inclusive, it is important that we include everyone in our society. People with disabilities often cannot fully enjoy digital experiences because they lack accessibility and this affects them greatly; denying these people opportunities for growth can cause further inequity between those who are able-bodied vs disabled.

Putti is committed to making our products and services accessible to everyone, regardless of ability. We are constantly working to improve the accessibility of our website and apps so that everyone can use them easily and effectively. We work with Usablenet, a leader in digital accessibility services, to help identify areas where our products can improve usability. Their expertise will ensure they are ADA and WCAG compliant before launch.

Take a Breath is an online learning portfolio that teaches you about stress, the brain, and why you need to breathe correctly, right now. With a focus on the most high-risk industry sectors such as farming, construction, law, and health, the question was always the same. What’s common between all these sectors that are experiencing stress and anxiety?

It became evident that the focus of stress and anxiety needed to be firmly on the mechanics of the human brain. And that it wasn’t just these sectors that were the focus, this applied to every person of every age and that anxiety and stress do not discriminate. It became clear that when we understand the science, the direct and causal link between the physiology of stress and anxiety and the way we breathe, then a solution to making a difference can be realised.
